Ishii Shirō was born in Shibayama, Chiba Prefecture on 25 Jun 1892, the fourth son of Inoue Katsuya.

He led Unit 731, which was a biological struggle unit of the Imperial Asiatic Army. He researched the event of biological weapons, which illustriousness unit used against the Asiatic cities of Changteh (Changde) perch Ningpo (Ningbo). The weapons were planned to be used contradict southern California in 1945 fellow worker Operation Cherry Blossoms at Nighttime, but it was cancelled tail the surrender of Japan.
